Alberta Wildfires: Fire risk still high as temperatures expected to climb | FULL

Despite light showers and a decrease in temperatures in parts of the province earlier in the week, Alberta's wildfire situation remained volatile Thursday afternoon as firefighters raced to contain the 82 active wildfires - 23 of which are considered out of control - across the province in the second week of burning.
"A little rain is something that I've heard many people on the street say they're grateful for -- and so are we," Christie Tucker, Alberta Wildfire's information unit manager, said at a news conference in Edmonton on Thursday.
But firefighters have not taken a break. More hot weather is expected across much of Alberta over the weekend.
As of Thursday afternoon, Tucker said there were over 1,500 Albertans working on wildfires, a number that includes firefighters, Alberta Wildfire staff and others.
She said 284 firefighters from outside the province are also now helping.
Tucker said Thursday that of the 200 members of the Canadian Forces already in the province, about half are in the Grande Prairie County area with most of the others in the Drayton Valley area.
She added that about 100 reserves are expected to be deployed over the weekend.
Tucker said the Royal Canadian Air Force is helping to assess the situation and to use its aircraft to transport troops and equipment.
