Honda CRV - Dead Battery Fix

I had a problem with the wiring to my door locks have a short circuit somewhere. There's a quick and easy way to disable the power door locks and prevent your battery from draining, if you find this happening to your older model Honda CRV (1998-2000).

I always wondered why my crv doors are locking over and over again even when the car is off. It is always re-locking. My battery drains within a day or two and I dont have a charger. Have to ask my neighbors for a jump and this one time my neighbour frowned on me cause he was tired to give me a jump 😄😄 thanks for the help. Will come back in a day or two and let you know if it fixed my problem

I assume you did the normal things when your battery light goes on.
1) Get a volt meter.
2) Check that you have a charged battery.
It should read 12.5 to 12.8Volts
3) Start your car and have someone get behind the wheel. With your volt meter touching the battery like you did above have your friend step lightly on the gas. Your meter should go up to 13.5 to 14Volts. If it still reads 12.5 Volts then your Alternator needs to be replaced. Just to make sure see that the Alternator belt is tight and not slipping.

You say your FOB stopped working years ago. Have you tried changing the battery in it?

I also having a drain problem. does your key ring light supposed stay on all the time?

If the liftgate light stays on, you’re going to get a drain on the battery, even when it’s parked, I had to replace the liftgate hinge on my 2008 CRV and now the liftgate light stays
on. Guess what, battery drainage! It’s sat for four days dead recharged, batteries only year-old, dead again after four days. I’m going to check the fuse box and see if I can find the liftgate fuse and see if that will help what do you think? It was fine before this.
