Have you ever heard of the tragedy of Obi Wan Kenobi? Turns out, he’s a CLONE! At least that’s what Star Wars fans thought in the early 2000s. But why would anyone think this in the first place?

The funny thing is, this is how the clone wars were originally described as in the Thrawn trilogy. With Jedi Master Joruus C’baoth being a surviving Jedi clone who had gone insane after the War.

I do remember hearing that george's original idea for the clone wars had the clones being in the position of droids and they rose up in a sort of slave rebellion but changed it because he didnt want the jedi to be the ones fighting for slavery.

Its actually the idea of the story. Palpatine was trying to develop a force sensitive clone for himself. That's partly why the clone wars happened. Because he planned to have a bunch of random clones on hand while trying to find his perfect clone

The best SW theory is that R2 and Chewie are founding members of the Rebellion and are actively positioning pieces on the galactic chessboard to covertly acquire the Death Star plans, present Luke to Rebel leadership (and end him if he shows any Dark Side inclinations), and get Obi-Wan back in the fight now that Luke is of-age. Even considering Rogue One it still works because the Tantive was never supposed to be anywhere near Scarif-- they just got caught up in the battle since suddenly everyone was going there.

Originally, theoretically-- they were heading to Tatooine to pick up Luke and Ben only. Chewie was the one supposed to be working on Death Star plans but got sent to salvage the operation since Leia had been captured and R2 went radio silent. Also, don't get it twisted-- Han was just a beautiful, useful idiot so Chewie could move around the galaxy without drawing attention and make contacts for rebels (and keep Han in the dark as a fall-guy if needed).

Man, the 90s era of Star Wars in the 70s and 80s era really were a fascinating time. I feel like the 2000s was definitely the peak of the Star Wars media. It’s just passing to see everything before it was all fleshed out.

I read an old magazine with the theory that Artoo was Luke's dad. The theory proposed that Artoo had the brain of Anakin inside and that he was a Jedi, so that was why R3 blew up when Owen chose it instead of artoo

To my memory the only cloned jedi are the kamino jedi (due to all kaminos being clones) and star killer

That was the theory we used to talk about back in the 80s. Original Batch One was the original clone, one of the few perfect clones. The reason they stopped cloning Jedi was that they rarely retained Force powers and often were too independent. So they started cloning normal troops, which is what the bulk of Storm Troopers were. That was the theory back then anyway. I still like it better than Canon.
