Although women make up a large percentage of Vietnam's workforce many females still face career barriers, especially in the engineering field. Reasons that have been suggested for low female enrolment rates in the engineering field include lack of female engineering role models, prejudices of gender, and having fewer technical problem-solving opportunities through high school compared to men.

Attracting more female talent to the engineering sector – and retaining those people – is vital for Vietnam's economic growth, financial stability, and gender equity.

What are the barriers to women in Vietnam progressing engineering workplace? How female engineers can overcome difficulties to embrace their dreams? Are there any policies from the government and industries to promote the young female engineering talent?

Female skills, strength, and opportunities to bypass gender-related barriers in the engineering field will be discussed in Talk Show "Being a Woman in Engineering", presented by special female guests from Vietnamese-German University:
Ms. Katharina Beckmann, Head of Academic and Student Affairs Department
Dr. Nguyen Hong Vi, Interim Academic Coordinator of Global production engineering and management Program
Dr. Nguyen Minh Hien, Senior Lecturer of Electrical and Computer Engineering Program
