Missing hiker found alive after spending 10 days in Northern California mountains

There is a remote cabin up in those mountains and the people living in it dug a big hole about a mile away from their cabin and for the last 5 years they have been taking their fireplace ashes and dumping them in the big hole. Well.... when the guy was walking through the woods in the dark he accidentally stumbled into that hole.

All joking aside, that was a nice and heartwarming scene of the family members hugging him and
being so happy to see him alive. They were utterly and totally FINE with his appearance.

I grew up in the Santa Cruz Mountains, my childhood home was only a couple miles from where this guys lives. It’s very rough terrain. That being said, it was dumb of him to not tell people where he was going.
