Hello everyone! I am happy to bring to you one of the best musicals in the past decade, HAMILTON. I also would like to apologize for my tardiness with uploading this musical, some school things came up and that had to go first.

Disclaimer: I don't own anything in this song, all songs belong to the writer Lin-Manuel Miranda. I am just bringing them to you.

Hot take: the line "So I'm the oldest and the wittiest and the gossip in New York City is insidious" is the best combination of melody and flow in the whole show.

Totally haven’t listened to this song on repeat for an hour....

This song always makes me feel empowered. Angelica was one of the characters where she was selfless and caring, but she had her wants. She did what was best in the long run, and she tells you the whole shabam in five minutes!

If you pay close attention right after the Rewind part, you can hear Burr saying "LADIES" From "WERE RELIABLE WITH THE LADIES!!"

[[ Lyrics, in case you want to sing along. ]]

Alright, alright. That's what I'm talkin' about!
Now everyone give it up for the maid of honor
Angelica Schuyler!
A toast to the groom!
(To the groom! To the groom! To the groom!)
To the bride!
(To the bride! To the bride! To the bride!)
From your sister
Angelica! Angelica! Angelica!
Who is always by your side!
(By your side! by your side!)
To your union
(To the union! To the revolution!)
And the hope that you provide
(Provide, to provide)
And may you always
(Always...)
Be Satisfied
Rewind– Rewind–
(...)
Rewind– Rewind–
I remember that night, I just might regret that night for the rest of my days
I remember those soldier boys tripping over themselves to win our praise
I remember that dreamlike candlelight
Like a dream that you can't quite place
But Alexander, I'll never forget the first time I saw your face
I have never been the same
Intelligent eyes in a hunger-pang frame
And when you said "Hi, " I forgot my dang name
Set my heart aflame, ev'ry part aflame
This is not a game
"You strike me as a woman who has never been satisfied."
"I'm sure I don't know what you mean. You forget yourself."
"You're like me. I'm never satisfied."
"Is that right?"
"I have never been satisfied."
"My name is Angelica Schuyler."
"Alexander Hamilton."
"Where's your fam'ly from?"
"Unimportant. There's a million things I haven't done but
Just you wait, just you wait..."
So so so—
So this is what it feels like to match wits
with someone at your level! What the hell is the catch?
It's the feeling of freedom, of seein' the light
it's Ben Franklin with a key and a kite! You see it, right?
The conversation lasted two minutes, maybe three minutes
Ev'rything we said in total agreement
It's a dream and it's a bit of a dance
A bit of a posture, it's a bit of a stance. He's a bit of a flirt, but I'm 'a give it a chance
I asked about his fam'ly, did you see his answer?
His hands started fidgeting, he looked askance?
He's penniless, he's flying by the seat of his pants
Handsome, boy, does he know it!
Peach fuzz, and he can't even grow it!
I wanna take him far away from this place then I turn and see my sister's face and she is
"Helpless..."
And I know she is
"Helpless..."
And her eyes are just
"Helpless..."
And I realize three fundamental truths at the exact same time
"Where are you taking me?"
"I'm about to change your life."
"Then by all means, lead the way."
Number one!
I'm a girl in a world in which my only job is to marry rich
My father has no sons so I'm the one who has to social climb for one
So I'm the oldest and the wittiest and the gossip in New York City
Is insidious, and Alexander is penniless
Ha! That doesn't mean I want him any less
"Elizabeth Schuyler. It's a pleasure to meet you."
"Schuyler?"
"My sister."
Number two!
He's after me cuz I'm a Schuyler sister. That elevates his status
I'd have to be naïve to set that aside
Maybe that is why I introduce him to Eliza, now that's his bride
Nice going, Angelica, he was right
You will never be satisfied
"Thank you for all your service."
"If it takes fighting a war for us to meet
it will have been worth it."
"I'll leave you to it."
Number three!
I know my sister like I know my own mind
You will never find anyone as trusting or as kind
If I tell her that I love him she'd be silently resigned
He'd be mine
She would say, "I'm fine"
She'd be lying
But when I fantasize at night it's Alexander's eyes
As I romanticize what might have been if I hadn't sized him up so quickly
At least my dear Eliza's his wife
At least I keep his eyes in my life
To the Groom!
(To the groom! To the groom! To the groom!)
To the Bride!
(To the bride! To the bride! To the bride!)
From your sister
Angelica! Angelica! Angelica!
Who is always by your side!
(By your side! by your side!)
To your union!
(To the union! To the revolution!)
And the hope that you provide!
(Provide, to provide)
May you always
(Always.)
Be Satisfied
(be satisfied, be satisfied. be satisfied)
And I know
She'll be happy as his bride
And I know
He will never be satisfied
I will never Be Satisfied

Something I noticed about this song that not many people would see…

This song is in the key of c minor. However, Angelica never resolves in a minor key - every note she sings is resolved on an E flat Major, and the only thing that establishes the key is the instrumentals.
Angelica’s intentionally keeping any notes of sadness out of her voice, trying to hide it from everyone around her, especially Eliza. And it works - no one suspects a thing. However, when you see what’s going on in the background, you figure out that she’s suffering internally. But the only things that show that are the things that others won’t see… just her.
It’s little things like this that really make the musical so great

The conversation lasted 31 seconds.

My biggest flex is that I can switch from Angelica to Alexander effortlessly.

This whole soundtrack will NEVER get old!

The fact that when Eliza introduces herself to Alexander and he asks "Schuyler?" surprisingly shows that he really was more enamored by Angelica. So much so that the "Schuyler" surname didn't even register when they were talking.

It's ironic how Laurens, also Alexander's lover, made some kind of an opening remark on a song that is sung by someone who is also in love with Hams all about how she is hurt to let Eliza marry him for her. hOW CAN HAMILTON BE THIS ATTRACTIVE TO CHARM THREE PEOPLE AT ONCE-

Has anyone noticed the "LADIES!" from Winter's Ball can be heard in the backround at 1:11 1:15 and 1:19?
I was stunned for like 2 or 3 minutes when I noticed that and I have even more respect and appreciation for the perfection and attention to detail and talent that LMM is and has.

Has anybody else noticed or am I a bit stupid for not noticing it sooner??

Everytime I near the “this is not a game” line, I imagine Angelica as an army marshall yelling “THIS IS NOT A DRILL PEOPLE” at her emotions

The Schuyler family actually had many sons, three of which lived to adulthood and fathered children of their own. Angelica was indeed the eldest of the children though, and when this ball happened (1780), the brothers in question were 15, 12 and 7 respectively.
