Alone does Laurens succumb to his sorrow by the balcony of the Schuyler mansion's second floor, a miserable sobbing mess as his best friend and...what he once thought his soulmate, dances with the love of his life. The wine in his glass remains untouched, dancing with his pain and lack of desire to drain it, for it would mean his acceptance in the coming absence of Alexander along side of him.

To the sky, he attempts a smile. Alas it falls short into a frown. "I should've done what you'll always do, Alex, " he whispers to the stars. "I should've told you how I really felt when I had my chance..." Tears well up in his eyes, and he blinks to let them fall across his cheeks. "I shouldn't have thrown away my shot.

"But you need her, " he reminds himself. "I remember how you've always wanted such woman to be by your side till the end of your days. You even wrote me all the things you wished for in a wife. I—I..." Laurens chokes on his words, never once feeling so foolishly naïve in his life. "I was stupid enough to think you wouldn't found one, with your ridiculously high standards. But I was wrong." He turns to take a quick peek of the ballroom, where the pure and beautiful bride twirls in the arms of the painfully dashing and mad handsome groom. Laurens' heart aches, but there is nothing to be done. Perhaps...they are simply born in the wrong era. At the wrong lifetime.

He downs his wine, though not as a toast for the newly wed—it will take a long time for him to adjust. After Alexander's brief utopia with the Schuyler daughter, they have a war to fight and win. His feelings won't matter at all.

"For the revolution, " he cheers weakly, and again attempts another smile. This time, he is able to hold it, for he raises his glass for the independence for his country, and the freedom of every man that lives in it. That's what matters the most, right?

Quietly does he continue lamenting, now more at ease thanks to the wine, when a glimpse of a gown passes by the corners of his eyes. An audible thump of back against a wall as the figure slides down to the floor, soft sobbing follows, and to Laurens' surprise: it comes from Angelica Schuyler, the maid of honor. At first he assumes she can't bear the thought of letting go of her sister to Alexander—which is understandable, considering the man is buckwild at every corner—until a quick realization sets.

"Hey..." he calls out, not an effort to hide his cracked voice. And he holds his smile, to assure her that they are in the same boat, bearing the same suffering; a gift from the same insufferable man, Alexander Hamilton.

Goddamn it, Alexander.

Omg the use of the wine glasses in this I'm crying. The heart glass representing Alexander's love (I'm assuming) and how he starts out with it then gives it to Angelica who gives it to Eliza and unlike Angelica Eliza actually got to drink the wine that was in the glass. Then Angelica's glass being cracked after she falls and revisits that night my gosh then Alexander's glass being completely empty... I can't right now 😭😅😍

This is by far my favorite satisfied animatic!

I like how she falls off the stage when she’s having her flashback!

I like how much you incorporated Peggy, Lafayette, and John!

I love the motif with the wine glasses and how they get passed around to the person experiencing love! And dropped/passed around when they fall out of love!

I also love how you incorporated scenes from helpless to keep the animatics consistent!

You put in butterfly kiss between Eliza and Peggy from the broadway production!

I loved the bonus scene too!

I just wanted to comment on a little bit of foreshadowing and symbolism, because I’m not sure if anyone has noticed.

I love how Alexander is holding a wine glass with a heart on it at 1:16 (and throughout most of the video) while he’s illuminated in pink. Throughout most of the video, Angelica is holding both a heart glass, too, and she’s in love, but hasn’t had a drink from the cup. She also picks up a glass without a heart on it next. In a later part of the video, she’s with Eliza, and she seems to debate about who should have the heart glass, but then hesitantly hands it to Eliza. Once Eliza drinks from the heart glass, she’s illuminated in pink, and she seems to fall deeply in love with Alex, to the point that it’s practically set-in-stone that they become a pair. Angelica sees this happen and sadly takes a swig from the glass without a heart, then introduces them, knowing that she’ll never be with Alex now.

At 3:43, when Angelica says “If I tell her that I love him, she’d be silently resigned. He’d be mine, ” she and Eliza switch glasses, but then it switches back once the little fantasy is over.

At the wedding, Alexander doesn’t have a heart on his glass, because, “He will never be satisfied”. Angelica doesn’t have a heart on hers, and neither does Laurens for the same reason, but Eliza has a heart on hers.

I thought this was an extremely clever detail. It’s been a super long time since a Satisfied animatic caused me to cry, but I cried. Amazing video.
