I heard glock and my mind went to. "You can put bayonets on knives?"

I abused the hell out of my glock knife for years. Maybe they have bad heat treating now.

The teeth on the back were designed for foraging roots, making small notches and what not, not really for sawing through wood, as you would just be better off batoning through instead. There is definitely lots of fakes all over the internet. I’ve seen tests where they jab them into a tree and stand on them bouncing around without snapping. I believe they are made of spring steel with a 53-54 hardness if I recall correctly. It’s still essentially a bayonet.

I hope you’re killing it on here man. Love the content. Simple, straight forward, honest (as far as I can tell). Appreciated.

if you sharpen the Glock knife at a 20 degree angle, it cuts paper excellently. depending on the work, the angle should be ground. the larger the sharpening angle, the more robust the cutting edge. the ideal angle for me is 20-25 degrees all round. For hard work like batoning and slicing tomatoes for example

To be fair it’s for killing peoples not trees

You might have gotten a fake/replica. There’s a lot of them on the market now. There are plenty of older videos showing these being nearly indestructible. Personally, mine also came shaving sharp along the entire blade.

The saw works great for making notches. Traps and pot hangers and stuff are really easy to make with the saw

Got three of them and absolutely love them! Got the black, tan, and green probably 10-15 years ago! Ends up being a really nice icebreaker with strangers, and especially cops. Always get questions about them and most people don’t believe me when I say they are Glock knives.

The glock knife sharpens easily with a ceramic rod 😊

The knife the austrian military uses has no saw and is mostly dull

yes its soft springcarbon steel in austria where its from it costs only 40€ but is a badass knife it i still in use at the austrian army and nobody had ever problems with that knife cons are it rusts fast thats why you have to oil it and it dont hold the scharpness too long and the soft steel pros are its easy to get sharp the price and the thick blade

For those saying they ant hear you, I can hear you perfectly fine.

That tip flex is disappointing but could be worse. Would outset saw teeth affect cutting negatively? If not that should be fixed.

Cool collectors knife, and cool knife to get if you have an aug

glock 78 and 81 are fantastic tools and great survivals knife in relation to the price. They never broke and perform better than a KABAR in all tasks at half price.

The original saw back on knives was just to help make a notch for making snares and Exedra, maybe halfway through then whack the stick against something in it will split

you could probably lift that log with big magnet because all the knife pieces in there 😂

I have a glock field knife as a beater on my competition belt. It works fine for that (after being sharpened) but I may upgrade soon
