Yeah cruise ship's is a real disaster. I work as a cook in a cruise ship and lets talk about the food waste. The amount of food waste that cruise ship throw is unimaginable, just to be able to give the highest quality and satisfaction to the passengers. And me coming from a 3rd world country the first time i joined onboard it hurts my heart throwing all the still consumable food. But then you get use to it.

Anyone who's ever owned a boat: "You will go so broke so fast you'll wake up one morning on the street eating out of a dumpster without a clue how you got there."

I took my family on a 5 day cruise once from NYC to Canada and within an hour of departure was looking to get off. All we saw were obese gluttons, long lines for food, broken swimming pool with the open one with floating bandages and hair in the water. It was always loud, crowded everywhere and disgusting! Never

Former cruise ship employee. Lived on a cruise ship for 5 years. While some points are valid, this entire video is just scare mongering. Do a report on crime at hotels and compare them lol.

Crew members love their jobs and get big tips. Servers in the US make “$2 per hour”

Also- new cruise ships are powered by liquified natural gas and diesel ships are phasing out now.

All modern cruise ships CANNOT be registered in the United States thanks to two laws. They require the ship to be built in the United States to be registered to the United States. Cruise ships are usually built in Germany or Italy.

Hi Jake, please make a video on the Naira scarcity in Nigeria. Over here there is literally little or no cash so we all depend on online bank transfer which the govt can just turn off one day and chaos follows. Now we are slaves to the central bank as you can have millions in your bank account but still can't see cash to buy food items or any essential sold with cash. This law was imposed this year and it's been real suffering over here. I can give you as many details as you need

Jake, your tiny official number of disappeared individuals is not an epidemic. Like you said later in the video millions go every year. Crime is underreported, rape, theft, murder, happen. But you didn’t mention the elderly who go on cruises to die. Lots of bodies on cruise ships. Most modern cruise ships have morgues because they expect more than one corpse per cruise out of 6500 per week.

I've know several people who worked on cruise ships and other than being away from home they really enjoyed it. One of the things I have a problem with is that some cruises don't require a passport, just a birth certificate to board. The problems arise for them if they get hurt or do something stupid while in another country. Trust me when I say, you do not want to get stuck in a country without a passport. My husband worked at the embassy in Nassau, The Bahamas, and every couple weeks or so a US citizen would get arrested. Most ships are only in port for a couple hours, and when you won't see a judge until the following morning at the earliest, your ship has left you behind. And, no, we do not spend tax payer dollars to get you back to your vacation. The jails are terrible, and the food is so bad typically Bahamian families bring in food for their loved ones. If whoever was on the cruise with you decides to stay behind, they'll have to pay for a hotel and all their meals, while missing the rest of their vacation. And, even after you've seen the judge you'll have to pay the fine imposed before you can leave the country. Then, you'll have to get a hotel while the embassy gets you processed so you can fly out. You can't just use your birth certificate at the airport. That typically takes several days, as well, so you'll be paying for a hotel and your flight home. You wouldn't believe how many people would try to claim they were destitute. "So, you're telling me you spent your last dime to go on a week long cruise in the Caribbean?" It never works. They'll tell you to start calling friends and family. Bottom line, go ahead and get your passport before going on a cruise and keep it on your person in a safe place when you're in port, and don't do stupid crap. It'll save you a lot of hassle if something bad happens.

I was on a cruise from March 7-14th 2020. It was amazing how jokes were made on the 7th, and by the 14th people were getting nervous. In that week the stock market crashed, professional sports leagues shutdown, and quarantine began within a day or two of us getting off the boat. Good times!

I feel like the cruise ship problem is manly a US thing.. Most of Europe don't see cruises as a real vacation, but as a way to get to the destination.
