This is very informative. My office is closed at this time. I will share my experience working in an office that is funded by our goverment. The shift was from 7:00-20:00. Emergency only. All those protective gear takes so much time to put on. Breathing is hard with those fpp3 masks, eyewear and visors on. I did only simple procedures that don’t take too much time. I really can’t imagine doing longer appointments with all those things on. I really hope this covid-19 would end soon and completly disappear. We need fast tests or vaccine.

Thank you Dr. Nasseh. It’s minds like yours that will help dentistry through these times. I do have a few thoughts on the topic as well:

I do believe there will be an uptick of endodontic related procedures following this crisis, but in large I think the risk is probably the same as any other dental procedure. In endo we’re still using air/water, which creates aerosol, but more importantly many times we’re cleaning up lots of decay and rewalling these teeth - which can’t always be done under a dam. Also, these endodontically treated teeth will need crowns at some point too, another highly aerosol creating procedure.

Implants, as a whole, generate much less aerosol. And so do extractions. I don’t have the answers, but until patients are comfortable having ANY procedure done at a dentist - elective or otherwise - I believe we’ll all be negatively affected by this crisis.

Stay safe and be well my friend! Thank you for your insightful videos, I always look forward to them.

Great insight. As board Certified pediatric dentist, this encourages me to practice even more non-surgical treatment options (SDF, GI) and to stress the importance of the pediatric dentist (like all medical professionals) to lead a healthy lifestyle. The healthier we are, inside and out, the greater chance our immune system can fight off disease and infection.

Thanks for this very pensive video! Do you think this crisis will highly affect the use of rubber dam worldwide? Perhaps a lot more people using it for a lot of treatments. I hope so at least

GREETINGS from Sweden!!
I do not agree with the governments strategy, but I do think that endodontics will be necessary
to fight infections.
