I took my 89 year old dad for this test and was shocked to see how many answers he got wrong…the year, the month, the day, the season..all wrong. Afterwards in the car I asked him how he thought it went and he said he was glad he sailed through the silly test, it was too easy! He’s since been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s so things are just going to get tougher….

When my Dad was 95 he was asked in A& E this question: “who is Queen Elizabeth’s son?” He replied “Henry the eighth!” So proud of him.

I know a president who should undergo this test. If he fails, be removed.

There’s a 6 hour test my mother took from a neuropsychiatrist, then followed up a year later that lasted about 1 hour... she lost her battle to Lewy Body Dementia last year at 68... I found she was lucid briefly for minutes then fought extreme paranoia and hallucinations, I cared for her for 3 years.... it was heart breaking and a horrible battle....

I'm gonna be honest. I'm 25, and by the end of the test, I'd COMPLETELY forgotten that address. Not a clue anymore.

My mom had this test at her primary care doctor’s office for years and always passed with flying colors. It was clear to all us family that she was suffering from some sort of dementia but when she passed this test all the time her doctor wouldn’t take further action. It was only after her endocrinologist noticed some memory issues in conversation he requested a MRI brain scan and finally was diagnosed with FTD behavior type dementia and you could clearly see parts of her brain were just gone. I was told people suffering from FTD generally do quite well on these types of tests for quite some time before they start getting worse.

I'm 15, the John Smith, 42, highstreet, Bedford thing was a bit tricky. I had to memorise that 4 or 5 times in order for me to actually bloody remember it. I also paused a bit when I was counting 20 backwards😂
That shit for no reason made me paranoid af lol

My mom 89. Dying right now of dementia. I put zero credence in these tests. She took it 4 months ago. She passed every one even the clock drawing. It was perfect. But here we are. Stage 7

My brother was diagnosed with dementia in his mid 50’s...very sad and difficult to see his steady decline over the past 5 years. I’m 60 and our dad is 92, healthy mentally and physically.

My sister in law was having problems with memory which her husband brought up at her doctor's visit. Her doctor gave her a sheet of paper with a blank clock face and asked her to write where 12, 3, 6, 9 would go. She looked up from the sheet of paper and said "I don't understand." Thus became her descent into Alzheimer's which took her life five years later. It was so sad to watch a vibrant, active lady just vanish a little more each day.

We used to home visits to elderly people especially those who lived alone, one brilliant lady over 90 used to play a game with me, she could remember the questions and answers from the year before! We never asked who the Queen was it was the Prime minister and more testing the leader of the opposition especially when Margaret Thatcher was in office she was there so long, our counting test was to count backwards from 100 in 7s, she went 100, 93, 86, 79 etc faster than I could, also we did a collection of items say 6 and take 2 away, what's missing? She told me what they had been a year ago, cheers John.

I could not remember the address, I could not say the months backwards, and at this point I can not remember what else was on the test. Scary..
