I think it means that the only place what he feels "in home" is in the plane, all the other stuff is like a different planet for him...

This is a great scene to be honest, but it doesn't belong in the movie. It works as a short related to the movie, but in the actual narrative, I feel that it would have broken the tone too much.

Wow this scene is a piece of nostalgia. They filmed this scene in St. Louis Int’l Airport in the D Concourse when it was still open. Spent many hours waiting for flights there growing up.

So pleased this scene was cut out as it certainly would have killed a great movie.

First deleted scene from the movie I’m happy they cut. It was too explicit. We all know what is going on in the movie

I totally get it what this scene means. So shame that scene was removed

How did they spend this much on post and just cut it from the film!?

It could be the official music video of Lonesome Town in 2014 (y)

I don’t know why so many are saying this scene should’ve been left out? The only real problem is that the symbolism is a little forced and obvious. Otherwise it fits pretty well with the character.

On its own I think this scene is amazing. It's so abstract and metaphorical. But it couldn't be more obvious why it was cut. It is very out of place.

On its own it’s a cool scene. However, it doesn’t fit the rest of the movie.
