Starting in February, a new Michigan law will allow workers to miss work for three consecutive days without calling in or notifying their employer—without facing disciplinary action. Surprisingly, if business owners take any disciplinary steps, they could face fines for doing so. #SmallBusiness ##MichiganLaw #Michigan #Economy.

I didn't say waitress. They already make that or more in the summer. But the cooks, who serve the entire restaurant, are not compensated properly for the amount of work they do.

As a Michigan restaurant worker, I would say pay your employee's a living wage $30.00 hr. Anything less is a slap in the face to ALL hardworking employees. My daughter is a housekeeper and she makes $30.00 hr. Stop shortchanging your good employees, make it worth their time, be a good boss, don't treat your employee's like they are expendable, and then watch how many of them want to come to work. People are not paid enough to keep up with their life expenses without multiple jobs. So if you want people to care about coming to work on a regular basis, the best incentive is being paid enough by one employer to live and pay bills. As a one adult, one child household with what I make, I cannot afford to live in my own place, pay rent, car payment, utilities, car insurance, phone, food etc... So I have to live with family.
