Balto is only famous because his musher pushed to do the last leg, but it was also one of the shortest. Also his owner was obsessed with marketing him after and then sold him to a circus when he got bored, that's why he's preserved. TOGO was the lead dog in the pack that did the longest distance in the harshest conditions, and he really should get more recognition. But all the pups that saved the children of Alaska AND their mushers are heros!

0:30 Thats actually an Arapaima! I'm no fishing expert, but apparently, they're the worlds largest freshwater fish found in the Amazon and are probably really old fish! However they are slightly endangered due to overfishing & in some areas (like India), are considered invasive species.
Also, they're one of the few fish that actually breathe air!

It's still kinda sad that everyone is worshipping Balto over those accomplishments... The true story is much different. Balto only carried the medicine over the last stretch of the road, and the whole trip was covered by multiple sled teams. There is a movie about the dog that truly did all the work, and it's... Togo, I believe.

Balto's story is cool, yes and so was the highly adapted movie, but most of that is in fact incorrect so I do recommend looking into this and giving all the dogs recognition, since there was actually much more dogs involved about 150 and Balto's(?) team only covered the final stretch at 89km and it took all the dogs 5 and a half days. Especially recommend looking into Togo's team who covered 420km of the way.

That absolute unit of a cat is actually a Maine Coon cat. They're known to be one of the largest breeds of cat including the Savannah and the Norwegian Forest cat. I got to meet a few in real life. One at the Ronronnerie cat café in Nice France and the rest at the international/national cat exhibition in Genova, Italy (my city) last weekend. They're massive cats that look like carpets.

0:35 arapaima, the one of the absolute units that dwell in the amazon. that one is actually pretty small, they average around 8 feet long, sometimes getting over 10 feet and 200 kilo. fun fact, the way their scales are layered is basically scale armor. each scale is connected and sandwiched the the scale above it and beside it. basically it has like 4 layers of hard, very well seated armor
