she beat him at his own game. manipulated him by telling him exactly what he wanted to hear untill she excuted her plan when she got him where she wanted. that's poetic justice if i ever heard one.

I feel like he let her live because she finally called him Philip instead of Belos, because this entire time she refused to acknowledge the fact that he’s Philip, and kept calling him Belos, and when he heard her call him Philip he took that as some sort of a win for him.

What I love how in most situations like this. This is the part where her friends appear to save her. But NOPE Luz gets herself out of this situation on her own and it’s magnificent

I like his face when Luz says "Philip". At first I thought she was trying to appeal to his humanity, but then I realized: he doesnt feel bad for her. He just thinks she has her right where he wants her, and shes finally seeing his side of things.

They were both lying here. Luz agreed to be his guide and got him with the coven brand, and Belos agreed to stop the draining spell and save her friends when he didn’t have the power to do so.

Pretty sure if he saw the modern day human world, he'd have a heart attack, especially if he met Potterheads (Harry Potter fans) or see TikTok or see modern day Salem or ate any fast food or anything with a lot of salt or sugar in it

His face at 1:07 will never get old. He was so amused to have his own Caleb 3.0 who knows how to play along with his games, that he never considered Luz picked up on those games

Honestly I think the big thing here is that Luz hit a blind spot.
He agreed to her deal cause he knew she couldn't beat him there was no spell that could do any more than stun him that she knew, and she seemed willing to subjugate herself to him.
Even I didnt consider getting the draining spell to effect him via a coven mark, and I have no doubt he would have never considered it too.
After all those marks aren't meant to be used on anyone but dirty witches.

I think this was an awesome and sneaky plan. Good job Luz. But there is just one little thing that keeps bugging me. You have to hold your breath for the invisible spell to work. But that little sound she makes at 0:57. There's no way to make that sound without holding your breath

This scene shows Luz at a true low point and how much power Belos has over Luz. Not just physically, but emotionally. She knows exactly how to manipulate Belos, which amuses him. She even admits that Belos was once the Phillip she helped, trusted, and looked up to. She hides the branding glove behind her back, just how we saw him hide his own knife from Caleb. And of course, she uses Belos's own coven system to defeat his human form. There's a lot of similarities between the two, and I'm glad Luz was able to distance herself from Belos in the finale.
