CLIP DESCRIPTION:
Creasy (Denzel Washington) sees that Pita (Dakota Fanning) is alive at the exchange.

FILM DESCRIPTION:
A man whose ideals have been shattered for the last time is out for violent justice in this thriller. Creasy (Denzel Washington) is a former United State intelligence agent-turned-mercenary who has seen too much of the violence and corruption in the world and has become jaded and withdrawn. Creasy is hired to act as a bodyguard for Lupita (nicknamed "Pita", played by (Dakota Fanning), a ten-year-old girl whose wealthy family (a Mexican father and American mother) currently lives in Mexico City, where kidnapping has become a near epidemic. While watching over Pita, Creasy becomes fond of the girl, and finds himself regaining some of his faith in humanity. But things take an ugly turn when Pita is abducted by gunmen who shoot Creasy and leave him to die in the streets. Enraged beyond reason, Creasy recovers and sets out to find the men responsible for kidnapping Pita, no matter who he has to kill along the way. Man on Fire is based on a novel by A.J. Quinnell, which was previously filmed in 1987 with Scott Glenn as Creasy. Christopher Walken, Radha Mitchell, Giancarlo Giannini, and Mickey Rourke highlight the supporting cast for this remake.

that moment he sees her and takes that breath and just kind of relaxes is pretty powerful to me. It seems to be the moment his character stops holding on. His character has literally been a man on borrowed time... a man on fire trying to make the most pushing through but he finally got the best possible outcome and he can "go home" now.

That sigh is everything. He knows he is trading his life for hers. And he welcomes it.

I've watched this scene 100 times. The love in his eyes and actions is exactly what I've always gotten from my father. Kinda gets to me.

Soooo powerful! One of the best acted and most moving scenes in all of cinema. Seriously can't watch it without tearing up, even a decade later.

When I was young and I first watched this scene, it was so sad because of how unfair it was... After growing up and learning the dark, harsh realities of the world, and how little meaning my life has had in the grand scheme of things so far, I realize just how beautiful this scene really is. To give your life for something so innocent like a child, to have your life have that much meaning by trading it for something with a literal imerserable amount of value... it would a privilege to have my life mean half as much.

I only see most comments about how good Denzel is but I think Dakota Fanning deserves as much love as Denzel in terms of how talented they both were in this movie.

oh my dear god. I can't believe how powerful this scene is. But they cut the part where he dies in the car while starting out the window at those mountains. That was the part that got me.

I had watched this during my flight two years ago, and It was one of the best movies you can watch of Denzel Washington's acting. Such iconic scenes, dialogue and everything. There is nothing wrong in the movie, and it leaves you with feelings as the main character must of had. It is worth everything.Literally my most favourite film, and the reason why I got into Denzel Washington's movies. It's as if none of them as long as he is a main character could not go wrong. Great film, Great Cast, Great Scenes, soundtrack and literally could not say one bad thing about the movie. I'm not here to spoil it, and the ending is truly saddening. One last thing, what I enjoy the most about his films is the fact that all of them are realistic or based on a true story, and he nails all of them.
