What happened to Ezra & Thrawn? - Star Wars Rebels Series Finale

I am betting that Thrawn will recruit Ezra like he recruited Vanto to fight the evil threatening the Chiss and the galaxy.

Thrawn is not a villain, he is a rationalist. He understands that the only way to survive is to have the power to defeat anything that threatens you. The Empire had the resources and the strength to help him with his plans to defeat the "evil". He did not necessarily like the Empire, but he knew it was better to have them on his side.

Honestly I like your idea to have thrawn on the next film, but only if they give the story to Timothy Zahn. As it stands no one at Disney seems to be able to come up with a cohesive story arc for the new trilogy and I think getting Zahn's imput would fix a lot of the problems.

I liked to think the two are chilling out on a desolate planet. I mean they would be enemies at first but overtime cooperate with each other in order to survived. I mean like Thrawn grand scheme has been foil but just kinda snapped from it!

Thrawn is too morally gray to be an adversary for an adversarys sake. Often times he can be an anti-hero when he wants to be, and he has the established motive to do so if it saves his people. In this case, if Ezra sides with Thrawn it would be Ezra switiching sides anyway to fight a greater threat. And I think Ezra did, otherwise why make the jump with Thrawn at all? He could have just had the whales crush him, instead he took him. Likely extracting Thrawn's knowledge to traverse to Hyperspace Lanes to the Unknown Regions, hence why he turned him around like that.

Anyone can survive in space for a short period of time (10-20sec) and anyone can be revived for a few minutes without brain damage.

Speculation on what happened to Thrawn: the officer on Thrawn's ship mentions that the blockade was "gone." My idea is that they weren't destroyed but rather pulled through hyperspace by the Pergal. This way, when Thrawn's ship was pulled through hyperspace, Thrawn and Ezra would end up with the rest of the fleet, probably in the unkown regions. This would put Thrawn in a similar state to the books, in command of forces along with Pellaeon in the unknown regions, this time however with Ezra as a prisoner. This would give Sabine and Ashoka a significant enemy force to go against when they go searching for Ezra and also open the opportunity for a Thrawn novel to take place after RotJ.

We KNOW Thrawn survives thanks to canon comics. So it’s not far fetched that Ezra survived

Leia being space does not count towards what happened to Ezra and Thrawn. A person can survive in the vacuum of space for several minutes, there's nothing special about it. When you're going into hyperspace with the windows broken, that's an entirely different story.

Actually, I wouldn't mind Thrawn flipping from Imperial to neutral, or good, because that's how his character was established in the newer Zahn book.  He was upfront with the Emperor - he deemed him and the Empire as the worthy ally to help the Chiss with whatever they were worried about in the Unknown regions.  As you say, it would be PERFECT to see a Thrawn-led Chiss fleet show up in Ep 9 to take on the First Order!
