Just like the Lord chose where the temple where He would dwell would be built, and who would build it - He chose to dwell in ME! Mindblowing!

Solomon asks God to hear His people but also makes note of the foreigner, like me, to be heard. I love how God does not treat me like a foreigner or any less than an Israelite and He blesses me just the same because He knows my heart. He persues me and draws near to me and He changes my heart.

I pray for all of our family, husband, wives, children, etc., and our friends who haven't taken the time to get to know, love, and fear our amazing creator, God. May He come near to them and change their hearts and use us to model His love and grace to them so they can see He is where the joy is.

Here’s my God-shot. Twice in our reading today the Word tells us that the glory of the Lord filled the temple and the priests could not move.

“When the priests came out of the holy place, the cloud filled the Lord’s temple, and because of the cloud, the priests were not able to continue ministering, for the glory of the Lord filled the temple.”
‭‭1 Kings‬ ‭8‬:‭10‬-‭11‬ ‭HCSB‬‬

“And because of the cloud, the priests were not able to continue ministering, for the glory of the Lord filled God’s temple.”
‭‭2 Chronicles‬ ‭5‬:‭14‬ ‭HCSB‬‬

Can you imagine how weighty the glory will be when we are with Him forever. Wow. It’s unimaginable. Glory to God.

Thank you, God, that you do not draw near to your people to condemn, but rather to change our hearts ❤!

Our God is faithful. When He makes a promise, He fufills it.

One way that God’s “Unseen and Eternal” nature becomes manifest and material is through the glory of His forgiveness. The invisible God’s “Weight of Glory” (as CS Lewis says) is so powerful, it overwhelms His worshipers (1 Kings 8:10). And see how Solomon characterizes Who God is right after He does this: he calls out “forgiveness” six times in his prayer of dedication. And isn’t that true in our own lives—that God makes Himself real in our material world by forgiving us, and when we forgive each other, things really change. We are made new by forgiveness, we have new life, and a new reality thanks to the forgiving presence of His glory!

What a beautiful dedication of the temple to the Lord. I loved Solomon's prayer. “O Lord, God of Israel, there is no God like you, in heaven above or on earth beneath, keeping covenant and showing steadfast love to your servants who walk before you with all their heart" (1 Kings 8:23 ESV). There is no one like Yahweh. He chooses to dwell among sinful people. If we sin but repent and turn our faces back toward God, He forgives. Praises be to the Lord, whose steadfast love endures forever!

I was struck by 1 Kings 8:17 "...it was in the heart of David my father to build a house for the name of the Lord, the God of Israel." God didn't need a house built on earth, but because of the heart of David to make a place near to him where God could dwell, He fulfilled that promise. I don't know, I just found that so beautiful. God fulfilling the desire of His people to be near to Him. Which, He then again fulfilled by coming to earth in the form of a man to draw us and heal us and redeem us and show us that He's where the joy is. 😊

Here’s my prayer: “May he give us the desire to do his will in everything and to obey all the commands, decrees, and regulations that he gave our ancestors.”
‭‭1 Kings‬ ‭8‬:‭58‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Aloha and good morning BR family. God presence in my life has been amazing since I started the BR Plan. Everyday reading brings me closer which is where I want to be. Galatian 8:2, "Carry each other's burdens, and in this way, you will fulfill the law of Christ”. All praise and honor to our Father who will never leave of forsake us. He is where the JOY is!!!🙏

“But how could God possibly live on earth? If heaven, even the highest heaven, can’t contain you, how can this temple that I’ve built contain you?”
‭‭1 Kings‬ ‭8‬:‭27‬ ‭CEB‬‬

I just wanted to quickly point this verse out to everybody because I find it very interesting. Even though Solomon was the wisest person to ever live not even he could fathom God‘s ultimate plan to comes to earth. I find it incredible how the smartest man in the world, can’t even fathom the complexities and nuances of gods great plan (Jesus coming to earth). God bless y’all.

“Oh Solomon, buckle up”😁. TLC, you helped me see my God Shot today! I’m so thankful we live in a time that we can see how God has redeemed us forever by providing the ultimate sacrifice for our sins. Thank you Jesus, for being the lamb that we need everyday, and triumphing over sin forever!

God's presence, in the form of a cloud, was so dense that when it filled the temple, the priests could not perform their service (1Kgs 8:10-11, 2 Ch 5:13-14). May His presence in my life and the lives of my loved ones be dense. 🙏🏽

As I was reading through the chapters of Day 164, 2 things came up for me that TLC did not mention in the commentary.
Thought 1
In both Kings and Chronicles, it talks about God's Cloud filling the Holy Place to the point that not even the priests could STAND. Leave it to MY God to find a way to FORCE EVERYONE to their knees or even to prostrate themselves before Him.
Thought 2
I kept sensing that when Solomon was asking God to forgive and direct His people after they have turned their backs on God AGAIN, that Solomon was maybe actually talking about himself. When he asked for God's forgiveness and direction, he said for God's people but I kept sensing thar he was really praying for himself.
Just my observations on what I read.
Thought?🤷‍♀️

"He is good; his love endures forever. " (2 Ch 5:13) I am amazed by God's heart of forgiveness and mercy. In 1 Kings 8:46, Solomon prophesied the people would sin against God, declaring there is no one who does not sin. This does happen later, and God does forgive. He is so faithful to forgive, then and now. ❤️

Good morning Bible readers! Loving this verse: 1 Kings 8:23
King James Version
23 And he said, Lord God of Israel, there is no God like thee, in heaven above, or on earth beneath, who keepest covenant and mercy with thy servants that walk before thee with all their heart:
