I'm loving this project. It's also nice to know that I'm not the only one who grumbles to myself at the end of a long day when cleaning up.

Me mate set a walking plank out, thats what im talking about dude. Awesome that your building it, sometimes all these saftey regulations are actually making things non productive in a way, i get there needs to be saftey, gone to far with some aspects. Its nice seening men build there own house/home, something i wish I had more people to talk to of my age from my generation. Skills and having a ingenuity to solve or work through situations seemed to be getting lost.

great explanation of the process (as always, you should be a teacher, Shannon). You can also use a scrap piece of your material in the corner and draw around it both ways to start off your guidelines.

"...Gotta get the job done for you guys." As an American, I interpret that as a sign we're all invited to the housewarming party. You 'Da Man, Shannon!!
"Too old" or not, I hope you're enjoying this one.

Thank you for the information, I have referred to many of your videos as I have worked on my home. It’s never fun building in a summer storm! Regarding the size of lumber, I appreciated your response. I try to do the same thing in my work, “Own your mistake, and move on!”

Ya, you don't need to be working in the rain. Water and electricity, AKA Power Tools, don't like rain and it's unsafe unless it's a pump pushing water.
This project is looking better and better. Framing starts soon! YEE HA!

Shannon, I am seriously considering constructing an underground 864 square foot home and have followed the construction of your basement carefully. I am informed I must have at least 3 feet of soil above what would be the roof of the structure. How would you construct a roof that would support this weight along with a 20 X 20 feet garage? This garage will house the stairway for entry into the home as well as the parking of a vehicle and electric and water entry and sewage departure as well as heat pump cooling/heating condenser as no natural gas is available, so I guess all electric is preferred.

If your measurements had shown the foundation was not square, or if the outer dimensions were off from the expected 24'x30', what would you have done?

What do you do if part of the plate overhangs the outside wall after squaring it to your inside chalk line?

Wedge anchors! Ok. I was kinda thinking that was gonna be what you'd use. They aren't cheap, especially for how many you needed. That rain is miserable!!!

Wait, did I just witness a grown man make a mistake... THEN own up to it, AND apologize?!? What planet is this? I'm thinking of relocating.
