The development of an artificial brain is a global
challenge. Especially when we do not understand
human intelligence. A child sees an object once
and learns it, sometimes, sees a thing for the
first time, yet learns it. This is not possible to
achieve using AI. When the situation is that we
do not know even what is information in the brain,
how the brain integrates information, what is the
elementary decision-making unit in the brain,
what makes the brain operate by itself, then, it
Anirban Bandyopadhyay is a Senior Scientist at the National Institute for Materials Science (NIMS), Tsukuba, Japan. He did his Ph.D. in IACS, Kolkata in 2005. He was a ICYS research fellow at ICYS, NIMS, Japan between 2005 and 2008. In 2008, he joined as a scientist at NIMS. His research area is on design-synthesis of brain-like organic jelly. He has written a book called “Nanobrain: The making of an artificial brain from a time crystal”. Between 2013 and 2014, he was a visiting scientist at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), USA. He has received the Hitachi Science and Technology award 2010, Inamori Foundation award 2011–2012, Kurata Foundation Award, and Sewa Society international member, Japan.
