Recovering Islam in Rumi's Poetry | Dr. Safiyyah Ally

He was a Mufti level scholar, (Hanafi fiqh). The verse about 'come who ever you are...' is not from Mevlana. It was added by others later on. Also, the original sema, the whirling, was without musical instruments. The very early Richard Nicholson translations are faithful to the original.

Even I at some point of time thought Rumi was deviated. But I consoled myself that I might be misled by the translation and should know Persian to judge him truly .Today thanks to this video, I got convinced that Rumi was really on right track of submission, it's rather the translation that has made him appear deviated.
