David Cameron to stand down as an MP - BBC News

Former UK Prime Minister David Cameron is to stand down as an MP, triggering a by-election in his Oxfordshire seat of Witney.
Mr Cameron, who resigned as prime minister after June's EU referendum, said he did not want to be a "distraction" for new PM Theresa May.
The 49-year-old said his replacement had "got off to a cracking start". Mr Cameron, who has represented Witney since 2001, became Conservative leader in 2005 and PM in 2010.

I don't care, I'm not a conservative but overall he was good pm, his parliament banter was fun and the economy/jobs increased under him tbh compared to shambolic labour which is weak and broken.

I miss the times when the conservatives had a stable leadership with a competent leader. I think David Cameron was a very good prime minister & he could have easily have gone on to serve multiple more terms.

As an American it is interesting that Prime Ministers still technically serve as MP's even after resigning as MP.

I decent man who did a lot for the country - turned out the country did not deserve him, he should have stood down as a MP the mourning after the referendum and I hope he makes a shedful of cash  and can laugh at the Idiots who ignored his sound advice
