So many reactors are skipping the end. It's such an important message. Thank you for at least mentioning how "Trains are big and strong and you are soft and squishy"

The ending changes the entire meaning of the story we knew.
I get the feeling he is traveling to that golden shore to reunite with his true lover. When he disappeared at the end I felt his journey was done.

Geoffs' addition of music and lyrics is perfect. Truly made it better and his own. The public service announcement at the end is so funny.

He made a short video showing how he played the chords on his keyboard and he showed & named the programme that converted this melodies into guitar-like sound. So: Your hearing was perfect! No actual guitar, but electronically created guitar-like very sweet music... great reaction!

My favorite part of the song, really, wasn't any of the vocals. It was the sweet attention to detail that grabbed me. On the back of the photograph he carried it said something like "Meet you on the golden shore". And he was carrying that bouquet of baby's breath. So sweet, so hopeful. And then the concluding chord echoed that hopeful tone. Oh, my heart!

I love Home Free’s cover, but I must admit I like this version too! Great reaction!

The guitar (and other instruments) was a plug in where Geoff plays the chords on a keyboard and the plug in fills in the guitar sound. The PSA was especially triggered by the original shooting site suggested by Layne (Steadicam for this shoot): not only an active train track with posted No Trespassing signs, but it was an active commuter rail line!

Home Free's cover of this was the only one I'd ever heard until Geoff put this out. I'm actually the opposite of you and my favorite section of this song is the section you mentioned where the Geoffette's are singing high. Geoff wrote that section; it's not in any other version of the song and I've begun to really enjoy his higher tones as much as his bass. I especially enjoy the video as it captures what I feel when I listen to the song; a man down on his luck but still with that tiny spark of hope in his soul. As others have mentioned his attention to detail is also amazing. Did you notice the shirt the lead Geoffette is wearing is the same as the one the Geoff on the train tracks is wearing only reversed? You can see it around the collar and sleeves of train track Geoff.

This is on par with the Home Free one, IMO. They're both my favorite now, for different reasons.

Geoff makes me soft and squishy I have to say. :) I love have Geoff has re-imagined this. I loved it in the film and the Home Free version but this is a whole new take on it. I never have expectations of Geoff or VoicePlay. I just wait for them to suprise me. Geoff has done a short thing to explain that the guitar playing was him doing on a keyboard using some plug in or something. I can't remember what he called it. :)

The first time I heard this version, I wasn't at all sure I liked it. After a couple more listens now, do I? Heck yeah! Thanks for another great reaction

LT, I love your accent. I could listen to you talk all day. All of the instruments in Geoff’s songs are played by him, but on a keyboard with a synthesizer. He released a short that shows how he does the guitar. You should watch. He can play the guitar for real but he says he is not very good. (Yea right).

You stopped the video too soon. He left an important job at the end. Always wait until the credits roll before stopping any video from Geoff & Voice Play.

I must go and listen to the Home Free version now which I still haven’t heard. Geoff always makes a song his own.❤🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

I always enjoy your reactions. BUT, for me, Geoff didn't do the song justice. Compared to the Home Free version, no thanks, I'll stick with Home Free.

Interesting cover of this song, but a little to “jazzy” to give the true original message of the song, the meaning it needs.
Geoff is able to produce some really low bass notes, that work OK as a backup singer, but on his own, he sounds a little “gimmicky”. He dives for that one bass note, yet never seems to use it for any extended melody the way Tim or Avi can. His bass notes somehow always sound forced, and rarely produce an intelligible word, just a growl.
