There seem to be some misconceptions about "bugging out". First, remember that this is one very specific scenario based on very specific information. The longer version of this video, which some haven't seen, shows them going to a secondary location and meeting up with their group. No one is suggesting bugging out into the woods. Bugging out is just enacting another step in your P.A.C.E. plan when your Primary plan fails. Alternate, Contingency, or Emergency locations can be at friends or family locations in more rural areas. You don't need a ranch or cabin in the woods. You just need at least friends and family, proper pre-planning, etc. No matter where you go, you're eventually "bugging in". The lone wolf living in the forest thing isn't a reality for most people. Even the professional survivalists wouldn't do that unless they had no other choice. Also, if you're going to make claims about EMPs or EMP studies; please include links to the data and facts. There have been far too many people putting misleading comments on here, not based on any real facts. As to the EMP Commission "study"; that study was a joke. It only studied vehicles up to 2002 models, it's own commission members called the study misleading, and that study was never recreated and never scientifically verified. Please look at relevant, recent studies and data. There are many, many variables to EMP potential scenarios and damage levels. Nothing is ever going to give you the data to tell you exactly what could happen. If you're preparing for any/all emergencies, you're doing just fine. Your core and essential needs don't change, so take comfort in that. One more thing... stop buying everything you see. You should be spending far more money on training than you're spending on gear. Gear hoarders with no training are pretty useless. Don't be one.

2005 I went through a real life SHTF when Hurricane Katrina wiped my town off the map. I was less then a mile from the Gulf Of Mexico in Mississippi when it hit and wiped the area clean. The morning after was like something from a movie. I sat alone guarding what myself and my family had left. The silence was overwhelming to say the least no sounds at all not even a insect was making a sound. I sat and watched the sun come up alone thinking to myself this is what it would be like to be the last living anything on the earth. I then realized I had nothing no water, no food, no shelter, and worst of all no skills to do anything for myself. I vowed then and there I would never be in that situation again and that was when I became a Prepper.

As an OTR truck driver, I take a get home bag every trip. It's a sturdy backpack with 4 bottles of water, 2 high calorie (2000), survival meal bars, water filter, 3 bic lighters, buck knife, flashlight, and of course a.45, with 2 loaded mags and 50 extra rounds.

In military groups we have been monitored for even mentioning EMP survival.
Seems the feds are very nervous about anyone learning about protecting ourselves from an EMP. God be with you.
I'd suggest walking. Learn to walk 10 miles. Work your way up to it. WATER is always your first concern. People will kill for it on day 2.
Get in shape 💪God designed you for this.

I did the actual walk 26 miles to my house from work, took me 12 hours. My wife dropped me off at work and I started the walk. Thru city and different urban and suburban environments. Im in excellent shape, Im a veteran, exercise daily and still was not easy, the emotional aspects are tough, seeing areas you dont recognize, feeling lost and alone using paper map was very weird. I highly suggest you try it out.

I just dreamed about this very thing a few days ago. I was driving to work in the early morning when it's still dark outside, when all of the cars that I could see, died simultaneously. The lights from nearby towns blinked out too. I have a "get home kit" that along God's help, will get be back to my family.

Its always a good idea to stay off main roads and try to avoid people as much as possible. When an event happens people will start panicing and if they see you with any type of pack or gear ... you will become their primary target, they will want whatever you have.

GREAT VIDEO! As a prepper since 2005, I learned several things. LOL, my pharmacist actually gave me attitude for trying to refill my meds early. Next day Ice Storm closed all roads. LOL

I would avoid telling anyone, even friends, except your immediate family what provisions you have made for an emergency because if Something Happens they are going to think about you and perhaps even tell others.

I keep a collapsible wagon in both my vehicle and my wife's. As well as bags. Each wagon can haul up to 250lbs pretty easily. Which in some scenarios kids would take turns in the wagons.

I like this video, because it highlights some of the issues people might face, after a nuclear EMP attack. What it does not mention however, is the fact that the EMP is merely the first salvo of a nuclear strike. Soviet military doctrine used to be, that they would conduct an initial EMP strike, to take out an enemy's ability to communicate and launch a counter-strike. This would be followed up by the actual nuclear attack on military bases, state capitals, ports and major population centers. What that means is...if we get hit by an EMP, that's actually the time to seek shelter for a couple of days. Not strike out on foot...but once you do, having a light, easy to carry 'get home bag', can save your life.

Oddly enough, I always carry a bicycle on my vehicle. Not for bugging out but I have an electric car and with limited range. The bike helps me get around a town when the cars plugged in. I find that having a bike does a lot more than just walking around.

Always keep a paper map in your car; along with a couple bottles of water & nutrition bars in a backpack. Also keep extra clothing suitable for the weather. I've always told my kids that.

I’m so happy I’m not the only one who thinks about this, I work around 26 miles from home. And there are definitely days where I worry about this happening, so I carry a backpack in my car with the appropriate things to get myself back. If SHTF.

Excellent advice. I believe most of us will see this in our lifetimes. Learn a skill that doesn’t require electronics. Learn to hand dig a well for water. Buy heirloom seeds for all 4 seasons. Learn canning. Wood fireplace instead of gas fireplace. Weapons and tons of ammo. Barter items: liquor, cigarettes, ammo, toilet paper.

My oldest son has taught us much about survival, like you, he’s prepared. Thank god for you guys, and gals. ❤👍

Excellent video. Most people are clueless about our vulnerabilities after an EMP. Well done.

Something to point out very early on. Many flashlights are now LEDs. These may be impacted by an EMP as well. The smaller the flashlight the less likely it will take damage from an EMP. But it is still something to consider.

Also I think you under estimate how quickly the stores willl be looted. In my town when we got hit by the Tubbs fire and they subsequently cut power as a precaution, essentially the same thing as an EMP. All the gas stations in my area had food, drinks and tobacco wiped out. The safeway had the doors missing, it looked like someone tied a chain around them and pulled them off with a truck because they were in the parking lot. The T-Mobile store got completly wiped out. And this all happened within 36hrs of the fire and evacuation orders. Which barely anyone followed by the way, though those who did follow evacuation orders, many came back to homes with doors kicked in and valueables missing.

In an EMP scenario you better do your bartering and getting things in order before nightfall. Because that is when the looting will start and things will get dangerous

Tornado hit us in May 2018. Our road became a main artery as others were completely blocked. At first were our locals passing through, but by day 3 the undesirables began passing by searching for abandoned homes or what appeared to be, along with looking for generators, & just any opportunity to rob/loot. It became such a serious security situation, so, I stayed home from work for 7 days to protect our home. Stay armed & be a force in readiness.
