Drivers racing through Brampton stop sign

CityNews reporter Cristina Howorun spoke to one concerned resident who went as far as hiding cameras to capture people continually running the stop sign. Despite his efforts, he says city council can't do much to help.

We have exactly the same issue in Mississauga . People just passing through the stop signs. I walk my daughter to school and mostly all cars just pass through

The owner of the bmw that blatantly blew through the sign in the first sequence should have his or her license suspended for a minimum of one year and be court ordered to participate in a back on track program in order to get it reinstated.

A stop sign isn't even needed it's not like it's a blind corner, just raise the intersection so it feels like cars are driving in people territory. Ffs gta city planners are horrible at their job of making safe road designs.

I drive from the Distillery District to Scarborough Bluffs and parts of southern Markham, and occasionally further...its the same everywhere. And its not just drivers...

There needs to be stop sign cameras, and other automated traffic cameras to fine drivers who fails to obey the law.

And have more cops pulling drivers over who don’t obey rules and register case.

We need something done in Peel Village too! People aren't stopping at the stop signs and are going too fast. A car raced past the school bus as my 7 yo son was crossing the street and the only reason he wasn't hit was because his 10 yo brother pulled him back. People complain about police handing out tickets here constantly but the tickets aren't changing their driving. I'd rather have the likelihood of an accident requiring the aid of firetrucks in the first place than speedier arrival time. How many children in Brampton have to die before we do something about this?

Just put a cross walk light that switches to flashing red during peak hours and remove the stop sign and keep the stop sign for the adjacent street. so simple.

Lots of people in Brampton with a lot of money. Their teenagers are spoiled and cause many of the accidents in Brampton due to speeding.
