Ultimate Tips for New Players (Honkai: Star Rail Beginner Guide)

Here are my best tips for new, returning, and old Honkai: Star rail players that may be enjoying the new 1.4 patch, or the Playstation Release! #honkaistarrail
While these may be slightly advanced tips, these are the most important ones I could think of to help you make big progress on your journey playing HSR!

Gotta agree about grinding characters though... The game punishes you hard if you try raising all of your characters.

This was really a good overhaul for upcoming players. One tip I could give is to add high level players (strangers or friends doesn't matter) on your account so you could use their support unit on your farming runs. At early levels, their support unit literally one shots bosses saving you a lot of time on your runs.

Here's my important tip: if you like a character, please build and use them. Every character can be used well, and I say this as someone who uses characters like Hook, Herta and Arlan who are all considered low tier and even bottom tier characters. If you like a character, you should build them because you can absolutely find people who have also built them, can give you pointers on how to make them work, and it's gonna make you a lot happier than building the characters you're "supposed to" build

I just started this game 3 days ago and man im loving the characters way more than Genshin, the snappy UI, the generous primogems they're giving out for free, the fact that i can just buy a 5 star weapon off the shop just at some point by making wishes is POG! i can also pick a standard 5 star character when i reach 300 wishes etc..

This game is great, best thing about it is it has MUCH less dialogue bloat than Genshin and i can skip it much faster thanks to their smooth UI, i got Carla off the departure banner and E4 pela from the current pink fox chick banner, game has been a blast! if anyone is burned out by Genshin i highly recommend yall play this game.

One thing to remember when building tingyun is that too much attack on her is useless because she is so squishy and gets targeted all the time so def or hp stats on her is a must

The best characters to invest in especially for new players are Asta, Pela, Tingyun, and Natasha. They'll carry you so far until you get better units.

trace farming will be the most that takes time and resources. Remember to level only those that are useful. A good stopping point is level 6 for general skills, and level 8 for crucial ones on your DPS

My biggest tip is that sometimes you need to take the game slowly in order to grind up some materials or levels. It's better to slow down and power up, wait for your trailblaze power to come back for 3-4 or more days and just level up your characters. Just be patient and get stronger or you'll probably regret it when all the enemies take a looong time to kill.

Tip: build up a strong support first, push them as far as you can, keep them upgraded with the best you got, and slot them into your profile top slot as support.
This will generate a consistent trickle of credits per day as other people look for a 4th ringer for their team and they come across your max level and geared Bronya, Ting Yun, Asta, whoever. Showcase your best, because people pick the best, and you will get anywhere from 2k to 10k per day-ish. That adds up to a lot of credits over time, which is a huge help for late game growth.
