. But as a public prosecutor I feel that whatever laws we have are more towards the accused, as much as the accused has been taken care of in the law, the victim has not been taken care of.

Is this law applies to old Criminal cases ?The Bhartiya Nagrik Suraksha Sanhita (“BNSS”) which seeks to replace the existing Cr.P.C. has introduced provisions for conducting in-absentia trial of certain kind of accused.

Only the suggestion is that the provision regarding Sec 482(4) in BNSS, 2023 was still there in Crpc 1973 under sec 438(4) so there is no change regarding this
