Hong Kong leader Carrie Lam has apologized to the public, bowing to more than a week of mass protests by furious residents over a proposed extradition bill that would allow people to be extradited to mainland China for trial. But whether she will stay in the job as Hong Kong Executive is still in doubt. The people are still shouting louder than ever that they want her to step down. How will Beijing react to the massive protests?

sad that people comment without understanding the situation that the HK economy is under. HK is used to be 30 per of the chines economy when it was handed back to China in 1997. it now is only 2 per of the Chinese economy. the financial center of the city is under the control of chines rich people. HK has nothing to offer to China except to deal with foreigners who want to invest in mainland China, not in HK which is have nothing to offer UNDER the current situation. the time turns to Shanghai which is the financial center of China. Shanghai is richer and dynamic city than HK. HK prosperity is all gone in 1997 with the British. China allowed Hk to keep the British justice system to give confidence to foreigners when it was weak, not anymore. China has more confidence in itself now than in 1997. HK was sleeping for that last 30 years when Chinese was working hard to develop its own financial center in Shanghai. HK is not as important as it used to be. Shangai's more important to China than HK. HK people think that they are important to China, no way. it has its time 80-90, not now. British will not come to save HK. British by itself depend on China business... so, whatever the HKers feels about themselves, it will not AFFECT CHINA.
