AMT changed my life as an adult. I was struggling with certain aspects of my autiism my whole life. I couldn't keep roommates and intimate partners because I couldn't keep my room clean. I lost people I really cared about, loved even, because of meltdowns, and my poor short-term memory made thriving at a job difficult. Its a shame there is a conspiracy of silence surrounding it. Just 9 months practicing music and already so much has changed. If i weren't the target of medical malpractice as a child and underwent AMT, my life would have been very different.😊

Great video! This is the career I want. So rewarding being able to help people through music.

From just this video you look like a highly adaptive practitioner. It also seems like music therapy is something every human could benefit from— not just those with a complex condition.

Hi! I am in my eighth year teaching music K-6. I have an opportunity to work with some students individually and in groups this year through therapeutic drumming. Is there any advice you can give me? Resources? Thank you!

Hello! I’m a high school student that is really considering going into music therapy at TWU, but I would be lying if I said I’m not scared to major in music, as much as music is my life (specifically classical music - I play piano and oboe). I’m guess I’m worried I won’t be good enough… But anyway, I know I’m super late commenting on this, but does anyone have any tips or anything to give me? About pursuing music therapy/majoring in music?
Thanks! :)
