Exactly what my dad did when I was 12, got addicted to gambling and alcohol. Left my momma with 5 kids to take care of on her own. We struggled so much after that, homeless at one point. I haven’t seen him for around 20 years, I just turned 36. I forgave him and tried to have a relationship but he just didn’t care, he’s dead to me. I feel like I grieved his loss already, my siblings have done the same. He was a good dad at one point, he was a master mechanic and made really good money. He threw his family and all of that away for stupid ass slot machines and vodka.
