I've not seen it rendered with such large pieces before. Bring on more videos of the old timey ways of livin. I use cheese cloth.

Enjoyed the video. Been lots of years since I helped the community for hog killing day. We'd gather early after working the day before to get the barrels of water hot for scaping the hair. This was before everyone skinned them. I'm talking about this as if I did it all but actually was just a boy and probably in the way more than helping. Thanks again for the show. God Bless. NW ga.

I remember when I was a young child in the early 1960s my mother would save bacon grease as lard in a jar in the refrigerator and cook with it. I have also seen videos where raw meat is completely immersed in lard which they said preserves the meat without refrigeration.
