Japan’s pound-for-pound hero is set to headline the biggest boxing event his country has ever seen. Undisputed junior featherweight world champion Naoya “The Monster” Inoue will defend all the belts against Mexican puncher Luis “Pantera” Nery on Monday, May 6 at the Tokyo Dome.

Inoue, a four-weight world champion and two-weight undisputed king, will headline at the iconic venue for the first time.

Inoue-Nery and three additional world title showdowns will stream live and exclusively in the U.S. on ESPN+ at 4 a.m. ET/1 a.m. PT. Australia’s WBO bantamweight world champion, Jason “Mayhem” Moloney will defend his belt against rising knockout artist and former kickboxing world champion Yoshiki Takei.

The world title quadruple-header also features WBA bantamweight world champion Takuma Inoue (19-1, 5 KOs), younger brother of Naoya, who defends his title against former world title challenger Sho Ishida (34-3, 17 KOs). And, in a flyweight world title tilt, newly minted WBA world champion Seigo Yuri Akui (19-2-1, 11 KOs) battles Taku Kuwahara (13-1, 8 KOs) in a rematch of their 2021 Japanese title bout, which Akui won by 10th-round TKO.

Toney was a damn genius. Just a brilliant boxing mind, one of the greatest defensive fighters the sport has ever seen.

Roy Jones in his prime vs Any other fighter in they prime I just dont see roy losing. But I dont know that id say it was his ring IQ that made him the best. Roy had the fastest reaction time with crazy hand-eye coordination. That reaction time/speed is just something your born with.

It is Tony by far. Dude did not even train. Would only spar. Never dieted. He was all skill. Roy had natural born talent. He was faster and stronger than everyone else.

Good list, it would've been hard in who of the who to pick as some say Sugar Ray Robinson, Willie Pep, Muhammad Ali, as to others

Was really hard seeing Walters lose like that.

Well, The answer for those who have just started watching boxing is definitely the attractive Japanese fighter, but for those who have worked in boxing or have been watching boxing for years, Jones is undoubtedly the most technical and intelligent boxer they have seen.

Jones was known as having a brilliant Ring IQ and arguably the best defense in boxing. I see a lot of folks on here that don't know what they're talking about.

No discussion of your choices just a random highlight reel. Unconvincing.

Problem with this ranking is this only consist of boxers that Top Rank has or had promoted in the present or past. If these include the ones outside Top Rank's stable, it would be a different list.

Bad choices to be frank. Lomachenko and especially Jones weren't particularly smart fighters but athletically freaks. I would even ranked Manny Pacquiao higher than Roy Jones.

Lomachenko was a lot skillful and smarter than Jones but not as smart as he looks. Against fighters who can keep up with his athleticism, Lomachenko's adjustments wasn't really look as impressive. Chavez, Sanchez and Marquez was a far smarter boxer than Lomachenko, actually.

Toney is a little more hard to access how smart he is because of his inconsistency. He'll show great in one fight but looks terrible in other fights...even against B class oppositions. It's hard to say someone is smart if he's inconsistent.

Inoue is s very smart one. He proves it against Fulton. His punch selections were actually even better than Tank Davis. But i just don't know how he will react if he's fighting someone who can take his punches.

It's either your a hater, probably doesn't understand boxing, living in a rock or all of these if you don't know how smart Floyd Mayweather is. Picking him number 1 is an obvious choice and almost an obligation. That's just how smart he is.

So ranking these 5

1. Floyd Mayweather
2. Naoya Inoue
3. Vasily Lomachenko
4. James Toney
5. Roy Jones

Roy Jones did not have a high boxing IQ at all. They should’ve replaced him with Ward
