Imagine a slightly different ending. After the memorial scene, the ship takes off. But instead of the wide shot of the planet we actually get, you get to see your love interest staring out one of the Normandy's windows, a sad look on his/her face, close to tears. The scene slowly pulls back to reveal the ship flying off into the distance, toward the setting sun. The scene fades to black. All while this music plays.
