liquidation heatmaps work more consistently in lower cap coins, btc and eth are subject to big changes when usa and asian sessions open

Like many comments explained the reason at the moment of the price action the yellow line was not there yet, And i would like to add that in the present moment the Yellow is showing the market makers ACTION ( Long/Short). It makes more sens to see the Yellow as a MM open order which is also his liquidation not retail liquidation zone.

You say why didn't they take this liquidity here and here and here. Well my friend, they didn't take those levels because that liquidity was added after price bounced and where price went down people shorted and set stops above high creating more liquidity above. So when price was going up it scooped up liquidity and then bounced and rejected and probably didn't have as much liquidity above until shortly after the rejection

Maybe the trend was already exhausted and the price bounced from large limit orders or the liquidity wasn't there when the move occurred.

I don't think it's a correct conception to say that if someone loses money when they're liquidated, the money goes to other traders. In futures, what happens is that, for example, if you're in a short position and you get liquidated at a certain point, actually, another position of the same size in the same direction is opened. Your position is liquidated with a market buy which crosses with a limit sell, which is the new current position.
