President Volodymyr Zelensky on Tuesday slammed a visit to Russia by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi that coincided with a deadly Russian strike on a Kyiv children's hospital. "It is a huge disappointment and a devastating blow to peace efforts to see the leader of the world's largest democracy hug the world's most bloody criminal in Moscow on such a day," Zelensky wrote in a message on social media.

India-Russia meeting is a regular bilateral affair of several years as part of a defence related matter. This has nothing to do with Ukrine affair. In fact PM Modiji is impressing on Russia that peace cannot be arrived on a battle field. The intention of India is good. Looking at the present meeting by Ukrine with tinted glass is unfortunate and appears to be a sign of insecurity. After all Ukrine was a weapon supplier to Pakistan which weapons were used against India. Yet India never reacted. In fact Ukrine earned income from hundreds of Indian students who go to Ukrine for studies without any embargo from India. Ukrine needs more diplomatic maturity to survive in a changing geo-political developments, I think.
