Here it is! Steps to help get this long awaited law passed! Made easy to understand and follow:

📝First a few notes to help you understand a little more The goal is to get as much senators to agree with passing the Patient Safety Act (aka HB106) which is a bill that will no longer allow hospitals to force us to take on excessive unrealistic patient ratios. We do that by making sure that all the senators in your area know that not just one or a few, but MANY nurses from all over Pennsylvania all feel the same (and other states…many other nurse advocates are doing the same thing in their state). In order for us to get this passed we have to ask House of Representatives to approve it and move it down the line to the Senate to approve it. Then the Governor. The super exciting part of this is that we got the House if Representatives to pass it! And the governor is ALREADY in support of it. So now we need the senators to pass it! So that when it gets to the governor, he puts it into effect! Boom! We are SO close!!! There is 2 things you need to do to help accomplish this!

1️⃣1.) Write a letter to your senator (this has been made super easy. I’ll explain below)

Use the PSA Tool (🔗LINK in bio) that completely does the whole thing for you. Courtesy of the SEIU of PA and Nurses of PA healthcare worker unions! This tool takes the work and struggle out of organizing your thoughts by:

A.) Finding your state senator for you
B.) Creates a letter already pre-written for you so you don’t have to think one up
C.) Sends the letter to them for you!

***Just try to edit it a little to add a personalized sentence or two

2️⃣2.) Follow up with an in person or virtual meeting with the senator

3️⃣3.) Lastly, get connected with the following unions or unions in your area and state by following them for updates and attending their lobbying events that further support the passing of the bill:

PASNAP

These hospitals corporations preyed on our silence, ignorance and fear for years! Time to change the narrative and give our patients what they deserve!
