Many countries seem to be getting extremely cold weather at the moment. It's -22 where my friend lives in Sweden at the moment, Norway also experiencing extreme low temperatures. They even had quite a bit of snow in Odessa which is rare. Parts of Northern England have had record snow falls with rural areas cut off. Still no snow here in Ireland though!

I just looked from weather history that You had colder than we had here in Rovaniemi Arctic Circle. We had only -9°C. Now other hand we have -27
°C. I see that they are spreading salt (and maybe some chemicals urea for example) to the roads quite enormous amounts that they are keeping those ice free. The snow is creaking from the frost under your shoes, but the highway is damp.
