For next time with the gag, make sure you have the Quandrix Student Background, Pact of the Chain, and the Strixhaven Mascot Feat. Your Fractal Mascot can phase through the wall and then you can just use your Action (no sight, verbal, somatic, or anything else required) to swap places with your Familiar.
