My 6 year old runs away from phone and hides. I used to chase him around and try to force him to talk. It wasn’t good for either of our mental health. I answer the call and set up the phone near our child. Then I walk away and stay nearby in case our son needs me/technical issues. I let him decide if/how he will interact with his father. This respects his boundaries and I can tend to my mental health
