I could listen to the main hook for Equinox for ever, it's such a great riff!

I don't understand how you can write about me when we've never met. I'm literally in tears hearing you explain what this song is about.

I hadn't looked at the lyrics when I formed my feelings on this song. It always had a reassuring, romantic tone to it to me. Loving unabashedly, and knowing that taking days to do nothing is okay. Having seen the lyrics, particularly the "Ooh, I wanted to die", reframes it somewhat. As a person who has had suicidal ideation, finding that line in it, made it feel a bit closer to me, and further from a sort of "Over there" piece of art.

I can only hope Equinox will be played on the upcoming tour 🙏

Hi Dev, I've been a fan of yours since 1998 when my friend suggested Ocean Machine. This Equinox song is so beautiful and it really hits me in the feels. Keep up the good work mate.

There is a sense of fulfilment listening to these songs right after hearing Devin's explanation. Suddenly the songs seem very different. Can't wait for Celestial Signals...

I know the chances this gets read are slim, but believe it or not the Empath record came out at the exact right time for me. I too found love, but that record helped me process the complicated feelings I had about letting that happen.

We are getting married this April on Earth Day and Why is going to be our wedding song.

This song just hits me in the feels so hard. Before reading the lyrics, I thought that it was about someone wanting to die, but ultimately the calming voice of reason from a loved one talking her back from the edge. But now I realize it's more about the sadness of once again, the sour balancing out the sweetness and wanting to die out of the frustration and hopelessness of it all. But still, carrying on. Push forward!

Equinox is my favorite off the record, it's just got such a beautiful vibe to it. The main riff has a lot of emotional weight to it, feels like things getting better, then tumbling down, over and over again.

What happens when you spend your whole life hoping and looking for something, and then you find it? It can be a blessing and a curse. What happens if the excitement and the preparation was more exciting than the actual find (i.e., anticlimactic)? Hopefully once the destination is reached (even if that destination is another person), the destination itself will continue to find ways to surprise and inspire and fulfill. There is always that moment, though, where hope becomes fear. If we are lucky, then fear once again becomes hope. This song is a perfect representation of all of that. I absolutely adore both the demo and finished versions of this song.

This song takes me to a desert sunrise 🌄 transcending time and space. Love it so much but I must say that SOBER is quite a new level of hauntingly beautiful joyful sadness and redemption
