I went in Hermes to just take a look. They were so kind and awesome! My sister even was allowed to sit on saddle, we ride horses. We were dressed very casual and it didn't matter! Thank You Hermes for being awesome! Thank You Claire for your videos! Xo

Paris hasn't had the queuing system in Years. Unfortunately lots of inaccurate information for those looking to get a Hermes bag but I love the bag, Black & Gold for Hermes is my favorite.

I also thought I’ll share my Hermes buying experience. Most of the videos on “ how to get a birkin” or Kelly will advise you to work your way up by hitting certain spend in the store. Fly to Paris etc. My story is totally different. Like you I don’t have the patience. In 2018 I decided that I will get offered a birkin. It became my goal for 2018. I basically convinced myself that It will happen. I literally walked in to the store and asked what are my chances, what you want me to do etc. I spoke to my sa and told him what kind of bag I would like. Of course I was looking for “ the hottest bag of the season” birkin 25. No crazy colors. Good hardware. He straight away said they never get those in this store ( it was my local Hermes in Dublin) but he took my details and I walked off thinking ... next time. A week later I get a call from the store. I was invited to place custom design - special order. I was shocked! Not too bad for a first Hermes bag tho :) (only ever bought sandals from them prior to this) took few months to arrive. Once I got my birkin I started asking for Kelly. About 2 weeks later I got a call that they have one in stock for me. Wasn’t exactly the one I asked for but I got offered beautiful Kelly 28, sellier in tan with gold hardware. That was my second h bag in my collection. Few months passed and I asked for mini Kelly. My sa placed and order for me and I am now waiting for the call. The point of this story is to let anyone who’s interested in purchasing one that it is so much easier to purchase birkin or Kelly in small boutiques in relatively small cities I believe. I have walked in to various Hermes in ldn, ny, Dubai etc asking for birkin and I would never get one offered in there simply because they do have plenty of loyal clients and no need for new ones. Anyway... I hope that this comment might help some of you looking to get one. Xx

Oh Claire, what a beautiful bag. The fact you have a collection of bags which will be passed down to future generations really makes me happy (and a bit misty eyed). There is still a queuing system at the Paris Sevres store, which some people mistake as the main store, so maybe that's where the mix-up happened.

I went a few times in September. Lined up 45 minutes to an hour before opening. You'll get an appointment on the spot if you're one of the first 15-20 people in line; otherwise, you'll have to come back later in the day. Was offered two B30s and a C24, but unfortunately the colors (Etain and Chocolate) weren't what I wanted on the Bs and the size was wrong on the C. I think my SA appreciated that I stuck with what I wanted and wasn't willing to take whatever. Also, it made me a more genuine customer as opposed to a reseller (which I'm not anyway), which is one reason why some people aren't offered a bag.

Claire, I think the queueing in Paris won't work anymore (which is a good thing, I feel..). They purposefully implemented an appointment lottery to avoid the "camping" in front of their store. So everyone who tries to book an appointment gets a chance not just those able to organize extremely long waits.

I was in PAris in April of this year and got an appointment in Hermes Fauburg I was offered a Birkin that I didnt like and walked away ....It was a blue azure with canvas surf boards inside ...limited edition but I didnt like it. I walked away ....and didnt look back HOWEVER I will be in Paris again this coming April and am going to try again. That Kelly is another bag I from NY
