This reminds me of a story where someone on Reddit was talking about how they lived alone but kept on finding weird things around their apartment, including post it notes not in their hand writing saying things like "The landlord won't let me talk to you". Got told to get the place tested for carbon monoxide and sure enough there was enough there to poison them to the point they were not retaining memories and they would have been dead after not too much longer had they not figured that out.

Someone commented on another video that a book was written in 1980 by British writer James P. Hogan entitled THRICE UPON A TIME, in which the protagonist succeeds in building a time machine capable of sending messages to the future and the past.

The story begins in the year 2009. In the Dodleston story, the year in the future happens to be 2109, which is one hundred year later.

I have a hunch that Ken Webster read this book and it inspired him to make up the Dodleston story.

I also have a hunch that Ken Webster saw the box office hit movie POLTERGEIST, which premiered in 1982.

Therefore, I'm 99% sure the Dodleston messages were a made up hoax to capitalize on the Hogan book and the Poltergeist movie. The Dodleston story allowed K. Webster to write a book about his experience (and profit from it) and that way James P. Hogan can't claim Webster plagiarized his book.

If a computer could exchange information faster than the speed of light somehow it would be THE BBC MICRO . If you did any computer degree at this time in the UK this was the kit for that. . In the USA I should think a commodore PET . The BBC micro though was the instrument that some of the greatest programers would have used. It was very very very expandable .
