Thank you. I’ve been torn as I want a device I can use with Blender, Fusion360, and Shaper3d. Your overview is the one that truly helped me head in the right direction after trying so hard to figure this out. I want to design 3D stl files for 3D printing and also create digital art. Thanks for your help!

I have basic storage on my iPad Pro and I do paintings for 2 years now, file sizes for my paintings are huge and storage never was a problem

Thank you so much! It’s been a year since I started my research on this. This was very helpful. I believe, since I’m in the market for a new Mac, I may as well get the XP Pen. Thanks so much!

IMO, Apple Pencil 2 is equivalent to the starter version of Wacom. They're great for photo editing but jerking when painting. Apple P2 needs to press unrealistically hard to get my chosen color. XP-Pen with Corel paint experience is surreal. It feels like you dip a brush in oil and run it across the canvas in real life, and the color is like oil on screen. It's the best digital painting experience.

This absolutely helped me make the decision for which one to save up for. I want to illustrate on the go and have no desire for 3D models. Which means I’ll pay more but ultimately the iPad is the best choice. I have a smaller iPad but I want a bigger screen. Once I save up for the bigger one I’ll probably give my smaller one to my grandma for her to do small graphic design stuff in procreate and Canva like she wants to.

I use an XP-PEN 22e Pro on a cheap $35 arm mount which completes the setup. I can set it up as a second monitor when not in use and let it hover at an angle over my mouse when its in use. VESA is one of the most important features to me, and its only available on pen displays larger than 20in. I love using using for more complex projects with many layers. I can actually keep panels/windows open in my creative software while I work thanks to the screen size. Though you do need a decent computer to get a good experience with it, though that is more a fault of the software rather than the tablet itself.

I also have a M1 11in iPad Pro. I love it for its portability. Use it all the time for sketching and brain storming. I also like to use it for less intensive projects. If your a graphic designer, then working with typography is rough and slow on the iPad.

Apart from a great review, I can see a vortex keyboard. Good choice as well. 🎉

funny. i also have an ipad pro and an xp pen 22. i bought both because i was not sure which one i would use. turns out i use the ipad for drawing and painting and the xp pen 22 for animation and 3D work in blender. the ipad does not have a vesa mount so it was difficult for me to get the ipad in the correct position where i could work for hours without neck or back fatigue. this was fixed by attaching a small board to an articulating monitor arm, then i used rubber bands to hold the ipad to the board. now i can get the ipad in the perfect position. at this point i still prefer procreate for drawing and painting over clip studio but maybe that will change eventually

What would you suggest now that the magic pad is out? It’s like an iPad but can handle all of the stuff the other xp pen could.

to keep in mind about usb-c, if you are running a desktop or laptop that has a gpu you cannot use the usb-c port as an additional display unless if its directly on the graphics card. or you get an extender and converter which does affect color accuracy. It works fine with apple systems due to their computers having only their integrated graphics on the cpu, unless if they specify otherwise in their pro lineup.

that xp pen mount wobbling while drawing would annoy me so much, also no touch features is a no-go, moving the canvas with gestures feels so natural

Would it be bad to own both?... I've had my I pad for 5 years now... Thinking of getting an upgrade but im still on the fence about it. Ive wanted to see how it would feel to draw on a bigger screen for the longest time now too, but im unsure of how to feel about not having access to a touch screen either.

Im also worried about using one more than the other at the end of the day... Im probably making things more complicated than I should. 😅

Nice! I have a surface go 3, which is like an iPad with windows on it! Ive been thinking about getting a larger monitor to draw on, like the xp pen one you reviewed in this video, but its to expensive for me yet.

9:50 Another disadvantage, they're far not as portable as Android/Apple Tables. And since the Samsung Tab S8 Ultra, there is also a big option out there. Even though I would maybe have prefered the smaller s8+ one.

Sadly iPad Pro have great screen and fine hardware and cpu same as macbook, but you can't launch macos app's like blender or autodesk

I got mine which is XP-PEN Artist 15.6 Pro last January. At first, I was always excited when I got home from my work then eventually I’d realized I wanted to draw when I get feel want to draw and it comes up with me I want portable drawing board T.T even I travel or work, I can draw anytime. But other than that, xp-pen is one of the best and of course you should have better software in pc or laptop otherwise you can’t enjoy xp-pen. (Based on my experience)
