I believe water baptism and fasting are Old Testament traditions but many do not like to hear it! Fasting is the way to be close to God but we are in Him and we are His Body! That’s very close to God! Only apostles took fast just a few times and there is no mention of them fasting

Apostles never fasted! In some versions, "fasting" was added in italics to prayer

Acts 2:38 Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ FOR the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

i understand that FOR (eis in greek) can also mean in light of. If that's the case, why don't the majority of publishers of the Bible just fix it or at least include a footnote. However, i have only encountered one bible translation that has done this, which is the Amplified Bible, which reads:

And Peter said to them, “Repent [change your old way of thinking, turn from your sinful ways, accept and follow Jesus as the Messiah] and be baptized, each of you, in the name of Jesus Christ because of the forgiveness of your sins; and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

But since they cannot or will not fix this, I'm sticking with the date of my baptism as the point of my salvation.
