Ciao beautiful people!

We all know that awkward moment when foreigners don't know wether they're supposed to kiss someone, or just shake their hand... or just run away to avoid this weird situation!
That's why I hope this video can be helpful to some of you.

In Germany you start with the right cheek (girls only). When I moved to Rome I almost broke my nose on at least 10 occasions

YOU LOOK SO CUTE WITH YOUR HAIR UP. Also, this is so useful because I friggen NEVER know what to say when I'm at the grocery store or something, it's really embarrassing sometimes

I'm going to Rome in August to visit my girlfriend Alessia for a week I'm very excited because it's the first time we'll see each other in person she's been teaching me Italian but I'm also watching videos too to get extra help so I could learn more quicker thank you for being so helpful

Very helpful! Coming to Italy (all over but including Rome) on June 1st for 16 days and this channel makes me feel a little more confident about my travels. Thank you!

The kissing starts with the left cheek, don't forget that or you'll have an awkward moment like the one I had with our Italian friend.

Thanks for the video. Very useful and helpful.
My only comment is I've been to Italy four times now over the last seven years. And I stay for 3weeks each time. I always enjoy wherever I go. But the problem I find is my Italian not very good even though I really do try ...and when I try ..locals always make a big deal that I'm pronouncing something wrong. Even my ciao I get told its wrong. So...now I've just stopped because I get so embarrassed. Now I just apologize upfront and speak minor English now when I'm out.
But the funny thing is when someone there speaks English...I am Canadian by the way....it's far from perfect pronunciation but I can can fully obviously understand them even with their accent, but I never say that they have pronounced a word differently or a bit incorrectly because there is an local accent in top of it so it's bound to sound different. It's not just Italy..most non English language places are like this. All I'm saying is that if someone is trying....cut them some slack for not pronouncing something in the perfect way that you do having been born and raised into the language.

Shaking hands and Kisses on cheeks, or also a small gesture of doing it, it is also common way to give condolences to someone.

It took a long time to get Portugese women to let me do the double kiss while Spanish women are almost insulted if you don't do it on the second meeting. Cultural differences are so interesting to observe. Coming to Italy in a few weeks!

Super.

Yeah, I'm going to totally screw this up when I get to Rome.

You have a wonderful channel. My Grandparents came from Italy, but I’m an American and I only grew up with faint traces of proper etiquette as they assimilated into American culture. Thanks for the help.
