You didn't include the Agricultural Revolution. Without the Agricultural Revolution, humans would have never developed civilizations, use agriculture, and would still be hunter-gatherers.

I would have included the fall of the berlin wall instead of the jfk assassination

This feels more chronological than anything. It goes almost in a straight line.

The life of Napoleon deserves an honourable mention. I know he's seen as a villain to most of the world because of British propaganda, however Napoleon implemented the civil code and the army corp system which went on to be adopted by most if not all of Europe. He liberated most of the Italian states from Austrian rule and Poland from Prussia and Russia. It was also his campaign in Egypt that led to the discovery of the Rosetta stone, the key to deciphering Egyptian hieroglyphics

The trouble with compiling a list like this is that the more recent the event, the harder it is to objectively say how important it is - if by "important", we mean how far into future history it will reverberate. The rise of Soviet communism dominated 20th century geopolitics, but has pretty much faded into insignificance. The JFK assassination was a nightmare for those of us who lived through it - but in terms of historical significance, does it really weigh more than the assassinations of Lincoln, Ghandi, or Caesar? I don't think we can say yet. I believe the digital revolution will be seen as a game-changer, but my guess is no better than anyone's. "The future's not ours to see..."

Great list but its more of a western view. A lot happened in asia, africa and south america. U didnt even mention slavery or the triangle trade. Many mention that this is what was most important to history, but i would like to suggest that its important for western history. Dont forget that enormous amounts of people live in asia and africa that wouldve been affected by ”asian” and ”african” history. The assassination of jfk definitely isnt as important as the opium war or the different waves of colonialism and imperialism imo.

JFK was insignificant and doesn't belong anywhere on the list.

as a soldier in the " cold war " I can tell you it was not as "cold" or diplomatic as most think. I served for 10 years, but over the course of the cold war, ( with the deaths of Korea and VietNam excluded) over 2000 American service members were killed in very hot conflict with foreign military forces. I saw some of this myself, and lost too many brothers to the cause. and my whole generation of soldiers has been utterly forgotten or ignored by most who claim to Honor the service members.

2. The discovery of fire
3. The invention of the wheel
4. The advent of the written word
5. The discovery of electricity

You’re not really ranking them, these are organized by the year they took place.

There’s always going to be subjectivity in lists of this nature. Having said that, the fact discovery of fire, Development of alphabets and writing, and agricultural Revolution weren’t listed as 1-3 would disqualify the validity of the list in my personal opinion. Those three events have shaped human history and formation of society in incredible ways

Neil Armstrong stepping onto the moon definitely but the discovery of penicillin could also fit on the list.

Although you will have more than a few critics claim this or that event should have been included or excluded, your list is good. I would, however, take exception to your word "events" in the title. Many of these were not events at all, but rather processes, like the Industrial Revolution. While we can perhaps cite to a specific thing that happened, often these events were just markers on larger process time lines (as you mention several times). For example, the Black Death was a consequence of the feudal model and overpopulation that inhibited technological innovation; so, once the Plague had decropped the human herd, innovation, exploration, and revision of the human mindset could proceed. Anyway, again, aside from this quibbling, the video was another of your greats.
