As a nurse of 40 years exerience, I know we have the best stories! One elderly male in ICU kept getting out of bed and running down the hall. Once he made it outside and was last seen running butt nekkid down the hospital drive. Security chasing right behind. Had to call his doctor who refused to believe me. This man had been faking paralysis from the waist down for over 30 years and gotten away with it ! He slipped up when dementia started!

I work nights at a retirement home and I swear one of my residents husbands who has passed away still looks out for her normally when I walk by her room I don't get any sense of anything but without fail if I feel someone or hear someone in my mind or something say can you please just check on Edna without fail she'll be on the floor

I live in Amish country in Indiana. I am about to go to work on a Friday. All the Amish ladies will be in town today in their best dresses shopping. And yesterday an Amish boy came in and asked to use the phone and he stayed on it for a half hour talking to another Amish lady in Maine. They are dating. It's cute.

Lancaster here!! I worked in a non-trauma ICU, and you are correct, it was very rare to see Amish at the hospital.

Isn't it so interesting to see all of those things happen? I can't imagine all the stories that you have. My daughter is a nurse, and she will never forget during her rotations for school, she worked in. One was a mental health unit. There was a complete non-verbal woman that she had been taking care of. Out of the blue, this lady started screaming, "I'm going to get you." It scared the crap out of her. I don't think she will ever forget that.

Now she is done with school she works at a nursing home. People keep telling her that she should go work at different places, but she honestly loves her patients. She just got offered a new job as the assistant director of nurses (adon), and she does like working normal hours, but she seriously misses her patients. So I think that she is considering going back to her old job. She has considered hospice work as well. People don't understand why she doesn't want to go and work in labor and delivery like she did when she was a kid, just starting nursing school.

It just putting the situation into context from where this person’s background is based on. It’s better than the reaction I had at seeing my self in the mirror in a mall. I saw this old guy staring at me with an angry look. He was about 50’ away. I was wondering why he was staring at me. Then the crowd of people passed by showing the frame of the mirror and it was me. I didn’t recognize myself any longer, and the reality of how I look now was frightening sobering.

Dude. Before my now role as a case manager - I also worked at a BH Tech. I loved being able to invest into so many humans, but I also saw and heard, some pretty insane stuff.
