Consequences of the PRO (Union Boss) Act

Why are workers worried about a bill that’s supposed to help them? It is because the PRO Act was written by the union bosses, not the workers. It would give unions coercive powers that have been illegal for decades. On top of that, it would end state right-to-work laws and destroy Uber, Lyft, and other gig-economy jobs. Many left-leaning people support the Pro Act, but one must wonder if they are aware of the profound and far-reaching consequences if it passed.

I was a member of a state union, and while joining the union was " a choice", even if you didn't join the union you still had to pay 80% of the union dues out of your paycheck, something I found out when I tried to leave the union while still on the job.

Its a racket and when a union is too big its just as bad as a government or a corporation, it exists only to keep itself going, not for the people it supposedly helps.

This is about public unions yo. I’m in the labor union and I make double what most others make. Idk I get that unions are bad but where else do you work trying to make over 90k.

One thing I do think we should worry about is not the fact that independent contractors being labeled as full-time, but more so how many businesses get away with using said contractors to the point where they are practically nominal employees. But then find loopholes and establish precedent to avoid giving people actual benefits. So I don't see as big of a problem from my limited perspective, but considering that if they let out millions of people at once due to having to give them said benefits. I'd imagine riots and unrest would form, thus meaning if a business is worried about that then they should be okay with finding new margins, and hopefully fewer ways to exploit people though that is a pipe dream.

Union PR has been very effective and you have to wonder how much the government has helped the PR campaign. Interestingly, unionization has been a battleground between big government and big corporations. Of course, the general public has so little leverage in this battle.

Unions are outdated for this era's job industry.
