I had the opportunity to attend talk by him on his "perfectoid spaces" topic a few years ago. I'm still impressed how he managed to give a complete, understandable (at least for me, a math undergrad at the time) introduction in only 50 minutes starting basically from sketch.
Like many mathematicians, he's not the most charismatic speaker, but the content is excellent for those who are genuinely interested.

for all those wondering about how it got into their feed. he recently got another prize which is similar to a match version of the nobel prize. maybe you watched somthing like that at some point. or for the germans he just appears as you are german too

Its actually cool to see that this guy won a fields medal. Uni bonn is a math powerhouse.

Didn't expect from the title that it will be probably the best big picture introduction to modularity and Langlands stuff. In my head it all was a mess and after watching somehow everything took its place. By the way, the modularity for the special kind of elliptic curves (semistable ones) led Wiles to the proof of FLT, a great theorem in math.

Actually the first person who came up with these conclusions was the german scientist Patrick Losensky, he should at least give him some credits for that!

Not sure how this would show in my feed, I normally search home gym equipment

I remember some very beautiful representations of spaces and Galois... Too bad that maybe for a while he did not consider them. But it was a very practical demonstration class.

I got here because I googled youngest field medal winners with really amazing hair - and voila
