The Beatles - Rain (Remastered Promo Outtakes)

The next day The Beatles went to Chiswick House in London to film two more videos.
Today's outside shoot was all in colour and on film not video.
"Rain" was filmed next and a quite a bit of footage was shot which was all edited down into one version that was also screened on "Top of The Pops" albeit in black & white.
In November 1995 a re-edited "Rain" (incorporating footage from the previous days indoor filming) was shown during "The Beatles Anthology" TV specials.
In 2003 this promo was remastered and re-edited using previously unseen outtakes then distributed around the World to promote "The Beatles Anthology" DVD release.
Outtakes from three takes of "Rain" are available on bootleg DVD.

We were at school in the afternoon when this was being filmed in our Park (Chiswick) 200 meters away! Someone leaked it was happening when they saw the Rolls and a film crew
I was 15...we went crazy and bunked off school to see them, never forgot it.

This period is my favorite Beatles period. They were still a 4 piece rock band but stretching that into psychedelia and hadn't gone full tilt into it yet. The suits were awesome - this is some of their best attire ever. And those guitars: John's Eppiphone Casino (before he sanded it down), George's Gibson SG, and Paul of course with the trusty Hoffner. They'd traded the starched white dress shirts and ties for turtleneck sweaters, added rose colored sun glasses, and brought the early black and white Beatles look into full color without going wild with the colors that they would on Sgt Peppers.

This is absolute perfection.

You had to have lived through the Spring of 1966 to know what a wonderful time it was! There was a feeling in the air! Very positive! Released on May 30, 1966 I bought my copy of the Paperback Writer/Rain Single at Bob"s Records in San Fernando, California on a beautiful June, 1966 afternoon. I remember it vividly! My late brother Anthony went with me to buy the Single. He was 9 years old and I was 8. I got home and played the single for my parents. I was mesmerized by "Rain"!
It's my all-time favourite Beatles recording!
All these years I believed it was John and George playing Guitars but when I read the new Revolver booklet liner notes, it lists John and Paul as the Guitarists!
I imagine it's John playing that Raga Lead Guitar since he was a very intuitive musician!
I'm 65 years old now and I always believed it was George playing Lead Guitar!🎸

The complete Beatles song! If someone asked you to give an example of their genius musically, vocally and writing this is it. From Johns vocals to Paul's Bass, Ringo drums and George's Rhythm/lead picking... No other band is or was capable of equalling this sound ever.

In 2007 I could not find the somg "Rain" anywhere. I googled it, and suddenly this Amazing Video came up. I couldn't believe my eyes. That was my first YouTube experience.

Since they stopped touring they thought it was best to promote a new single with a video instead. And it worked. They were the first group to do this.
